Man, 22re's are slow, redline's 5750RPM, but it'll never make it up there...can't wait to swap it out.

  • Duh, it's a big four cylinder SOHC engine. Of course it's not gonne rev out well. What it lacks in revs it makes up for with low down torque..

  • @Sengeto This one I was talking about is supposed to rev up to 7500 RPM. Dual Weber 45's, LCE Pro-header, 20R Head, and 278-0F Schneider cam.

  • I agree with everyone else, you should be liking the 22re motor more. It produces a lot of torque and is extremely reliable. I bought a 85 GTS with 240000 miles on it and it still runs really strong with no reliability issues. I would say its one of the best motors Toyota has ever made.

  • 22r and 22re are some of the best engines ever built. You can't beat the reliability.
