Sterling Sharpe's WR contemporaries were the following: Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, Cris Carter, Andre Rison. And incredible class of receivers. And the only receiver during Sharpe's career (1988-1994) who might have been more dominant was Jerry Rice -- the greatest WR of all-time. Clearly, Sterling Sharpe belongs in the HOF.

@1957thack true...people hype the qbs as if they were throwing passes to themselves

Farve wouldn't of had most of the records that he has if Sterling Sharpe wasn't on the packers! This goes to show you that Football is a team game!

@swiftdan8 ur a dumb piece of shit
-
He will eventually get in the hall when hes about 60 just like alot of them that get in like Hanburger,Lebeau,Dent
-
Shannon Sharpe's words: "I'm the only pro football player in the HOF, and i'm the second best player in my own family." Powerful stuff.

@swiftdan8 are you fuckin retarted or something? chad will never be a first ballot hof nor will he ever make it in hes just a sideshow artist now
-
@swiftdan8 you must be a child...there was a point in time where people had serious arguments about who was better, Sterling Sharpe or Jerry Rice...I am a fan of Chad, however, he is not of Sharpe's level.

@swiftdan8 r u crazy. Sterling Sharpe Led NFL in receptions in 1989, 1992, and 1993 also Led NFL in receiving TDs in 1992 and 1994. He set the receptions record twice he was the first player to have back2back 100 reception years. But most important consecutive games with at least 4 receptions: 34 he brought it every game. He would have made it to the hall of fame and is in consideration and chad will never have that honor.

Bo Jackson, Marcus Dupree, Sterling Sharpe, Terrell Davis... Tragic list that will only get longer.
As a Bear fan I gotta admit, Sterling Sharpe was the beast of beasts at WR. He's an even better Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, etc...Sharpe and Rice were the best and if his career wasn't cut short, I have no doubt he would have been in that argument.
But to the cheeseheads out there dont forget, Sharpe is FROM Chicago AND a legit Bear fan ;-)

It's realy too bad that Sterling had to retire early due to his injury! He got that stinger in the neck, If I recall correctly, They told him that he could wind up getting crippled if he were to get hit in a certain way! Sterling is & always will be one of my most fav. players of all time!
