Shame they give a Right to Life spokesperson the final word in this report. After watching my grandfather slowly go downhill for a decade after a stroke, he, and our entire family wish that he could have had the dignity of choosing to get his affairs in order, and put an end to things peacefully. Instead, for the last 5 years he's been in and out of a nursing home and utterly miserable. All this suffering because of a lingering connection between church and state that should not exist.

This is the real American Dream. The day Euthanasia is allowed in America is the day I get off welfare/social security disability, get a job at McDonalds to pay for my funeral and Euthanasia treatment. To hell with buying a nice house and starting a family and going to college. What a waste of time.

The issue here is not life or death. Both options will in short time lead to death. The issue here is whether or not an individual has the right to choose the time and manner in which they die. The second you take away individual choice is the second you become tyrannical.

@rehndawg Buying a nice house, starting a family or going to college may not be options for termanally ill people. Why make people suffer through months of agony before they die? Why not let them choose when to die, so they can die with dignity and without needless suffering?
