  • Wonderful !!! Though a bit slow tempo, much more dramaric than 60's Dekka recording and this is very clear sound , voice and positioning.

Thanks for uploading in one shot, 2hours 30 minutes.

  • Magnificent. The Ring Solti did with the VPO in the early 60's has always been my benchmark and it's great to have his later thoughts on the matter. Even nicer without having to fuss about "traditional staging" or "Edwardian dress" or "science fictional", let alone the size of Brunnhilde and her schwestern. The imagination is far and away the best stage manager, and if I want Brunny to look like Angelina or Scarlett (let alone Anita Ekberg) then that's my choice.

  • Wagner is overrated crap try Pergolesi or Barber

  • @TheVaughan5 One thing I do like about modern Rings is the newer Brunnhildes, who may not be the vocal equal of Flagstad or Nilsson, but they do make the line "Das ist kein mann!" truly funny. The phrase "It ain't over till the fat lady sings" refers specifically to the hefty crop of early Brunnhildes and "Gotterdammerung."

  • @slothropgr I agree with your comments, The Ring is almost impossible to stage convincingly, would be perfect for film though where you could have the best of all worlds! Far better to hear it on record or in concert form.

  • Splendida direzione!

  • ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Maravilla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Formidable el maestro Solti.

  • This is stuning. So immediate and fresh. I've always been a fan of Doris Soffel and have wanted to hear her Wagner for many years, and here 'tis! Fab cast, far better than what we have to put up with today. And bravo to you for one long upload. Vielen Dank!!!
