This was and always will be Tom's band. I love Michael M, but their unique sound was the result of Tom's songwriting.Without him they are a blue-eyed soul singer's backing band--which I ALSO love, by the way, only one bearing precious little relation to The Doobie Brothers.

great song, definitely should have been a much bigger hit than #32 on Billboard IMHO

@frankrizzo51 please do! then get back to me and tell me what you have found!

@jaytotheell I know ELO had one for Out of the Blue. I think STYX had one with the Pieces of Eight cover on the disc itself. I also believe Meat Loaf had a picture disc for Bat out of Hell. I'm going to try to research this since I'm going nuts about it!!

@frankrizzo51 do you remember which group(s) put out those colored discs? i remember all those things you mention! yup it's an experience we will remember but not today's generation. too bad.

This is my all-time favorite Doobie Brothers song, the one I consider their best. Patrick Simmons is a good songwriter but I think Tom Johnston was the best writer in the group. This is a very nice live version.

One of the Doobies Bros most soothing songs-and one of my faves- this live performance was pretty good-I usually try to find the studio version- but this will suffice-The lead singer still looks and sounds great-
Thanks for posting it Chalzfoed
