2012奈良の若草山焼き(1) 聖火行列 Wakakusayama Mountain Burning 1/3

古都・奈良の冬の伝統行事、若草山の「山焼き」が１月２８日の夜、行われました。
当ビデオでは、山焼き前の若草山の様子、消防団出発式典、聖火行列、春日大社の神職による無事を祈る神事などをご覧いただけます。
なお長くなりますので３本のビデオに分けています。このビデオはPart1です。Part2 「冬花火の祭典」、Part3 「山焼き」と続きます。

Wakakusayama Grass Burning Ceremony
This burning of dead grass on the hill is called Yamayaki. Wakakusa-yamayaki in Nara-city is a grass-burning ceremony on Mt. Wakakusa located east of Nara Park. The traditional event dates back hundreds of years and takes place every January.
