''Play for the god Jupiter, the master of the universe!''

I always come to his music to be reminded of beauty and meaning.

@LordMSh My mistake then. I thought he was an Italian who went to Paris. Lemme check wikipedia. Well, he was taken to France. I stand corrected. Somewhat. France was taking over from Italy the musical leadership of Europe.
-
@spinoza1111 No, he did not.
-
@LordMSh Don't let his ghost hear you say that. Did not Lully flee Italy?
-
@ppagnol C'est vrai, et c'est meilleur que (de?) Handel (mon Francais c'est mal). Bach est une Etoile seule, "past compare". Mais Lully ... I have to use English ... is more powerful than much of Handel a mon avis. Handel c'est Baroque pour les bourgeois: morale, timide (at times, dans certaine temps). Lully est "in your face".

@alchimiste1968 Well, it was written 350 odd years before the movie but yes, it's used in the film.
-
@LordMSh Indeed he did. His beat as strong as rock and roll and as you probably know, he died keeping time by piercing his foot. Have you seen Le Roi Danse?
-
@alchimiste1968 Yes, it is!
-
This is from "Lo roi danse", isn't it?
Giovanni Battista Lulli had the power of a nuclear arsenal inside him.
