Wonder how the PC brigade reacted to Rudolf Walker saying white poof? They never understood that both men gave as good as they got and yet the two women always got and in real life the two male actors were good friends. It wasn't one of the best sitcoms ever, but LTN was massive in the seventies and also very popular with black viewers.

Isn't it amazing looking at this from today's pc perspective?

I saw Jack Smethurst at the Liverpool Empire in the early nineties, he was playing Macbeth. I have to say he was briliant! He put in a really powerful performance. A huge difference from the character he plays here. Just goes to show what a versatile actor he really was, or rather still is:-)

"You randy nig nog" - "loud mouthed pale skinned poof" - the writing for this show was not only hilarious in all the wrong ways but the characters irrespective of ethnicity are cunts!
