  • @afloers "The way Elvira sustains fading Ernani's voice at 11:40 is so touching," You have good taste my friend. Most singers scream so at this point that the beauty and subtlety is lost. Price's Verdi repertoire is rich in such instances of her realizing this particular mannerism of the composer and executing it to unforgettable perfection. They used to call this "greatness" when I was in college. Best

  • Thank you so much, Addiobelpassato. I had this masterpiece registration in an old cassette version, and it took me company when I was studying at college ( approx 3 decades ago). Listening to it again was like meeting an old friend. The way Elvira sustains fading Ernani's voice at 11:40 is so touching, I still had it in my hearth. So, many hearthly thanks again! A.
