Let's face it, Wolves City Centre is a dive! Having said that, I came here thirty-one years ago from a very comfortable existence in the home counties, and I wouldn't go back there even if you paid me.
Why? Because midlanders are so much more open and friendly than southerners; people here have got the time of day for you, which is a damn sight more than you can say for those in the south of England.

all towns in england have become cloned towns all look the bloody same .

No council seems to get that the shoppers with money want to come in by car and the city centre isn't car friendly. Parking is too expensive and other shopping centres draw people in with free parking.Even if you do want to travel by bus they keep digging up the bus station and that means pavements get crowded with queues making it a pain. The cities fine but the various different councils all seem clueless and don't look after the traders so it's gotten a lot of closed shops.

I don't think Wolves is an especially pleasant place to live and I've lived all over the UK. It needs a lot of investment. It seems to have become more and more run down over the decades that I've lived here. There's not a massive amount of things to do and see here beyond the shopping/drinking. That said, hopefully it'll get better.

PEOPLE WOLVERHAMPTON IS GREAT! DONT DIS WHERE I LIVE! WOLVERHAMPTON EVEN HAS A SONG! WOLVERHAMPTON GIRLS PLUS THAT VIDEO WAS MADE 2006! WOLVERHAMPTON HAS CHANGED SINCE THEN AND MUCH BETTA! I walk pass the varsity to get to the bus stops to get my bus home from town with my mates.

@chazolock. I found your descriptive verb quite offensive. It's not the language I would use in public or private of any place. Kinda defines the type of person YOU are and on that basis, I'd say that Wolves would be better without you rather than me. I appreciate the place and try to improve it in my own small way rather than slander the place I am proud to call my home town.

@wtc175 i used to love it here but now it's gone down-hill, take another cheap shot if you wish, people like you are why it's gone down-hill. the only way to make something good out of wolverhampton is remove 60% of the residents.

I grew up in Wolves then moved to London in 1976 where I lived for 20 years in 4 different areas. I moved back here 10 years ago and believe me - the quality of life is so much better here than in London. I still have to drive down their a couple of times a year - and it's getting worse there by the day. Traffic is a nightmare, parking (if you can find a space) is expensive, and to rent a 2 bed flat (no garden) is around £1200 a month - forget about buying! Wolves everytime for me!

@chazoclock ......,maybe because you're part of the shit! Towns are what those living in it make of it.
she looks like a girl who were at walsall campus as group leader or something like this in summer 2006 with Natalie and other girls... Is she?

Nope. I only lived in Wolves for about 6 months and worked at the Bullring in Birmingham. This was Winter 2005.

Wolves isn't a shi*hole at all. Compared to a lot of places in England it's a great place to live. Everything you could ever need is right here in Wolves. I'm a wolves lad and proud of it. An all the derelict buildings?? Whats that about, if you walked around you would see that the whole city is been renovated, wolves is on the up :-)

I know! The place grew on me, I have to admit. I think I had only been in Wolves for a couple weeks when this was taken and fresh off the plane from California. I didn't know my way around! I can't wait to come back to Wolves and see how much it's changed.
