On our way from Baltimore to Bergen, we hit a storm in where the north atlantic meets the north sea, north of Scotland, close to Fair Isle. Our main upper topsail blew out by the port sheet, and had to be left flapping frantically till the weather died down.

On board we have cadets from the Norwegian Naval Academy, who´re taught seamanship during their three month long trip back and forth across the atlantic. The rest of the year we sail to all kinds of cool places. Check out www.lehmkuhl.no if you want to sail with us.

  • Wow, good video!. I see the Statsraad Lehmkuhl every year when she comes to Shetland but to see her like this is fantastic.

    What speed is she going?.

    :)

  • awesome speed and excitement, what braave men!

  • that's "real" sailing, nice work.

  • Awesome, fantastic ship too :)

  • That looked frightened and thrilling. Loved the way your ship leaned, almost toppling over, then righted itself. Great video.
