@Brahmsfourth true but yet it is ragious he CAN sing better not only play with his charisma !

When Cura sang his first Otello in Argentina, he said to an interviewer "I'm not going to sing Otello sceraming as Del Monaco did".
Cura got one of the worst reviews appearing in OPERA magazine

Santuzza has a too small of a voice for this. I dont like her color for this role. and he is well as always, over covered

Grande momento de dramatismo impressionante com uma excelente execução dos dois interpretes nas personagens de "Turidu e Santuzza".

I have never before seen the psychological reality of these characters brought to life so vividly and painfully. It's almost too hard to watch. So well done. Perfect.

A te la mala pascua!!!

Absolutely first class duet.
While I'm by now used to Ms. Meier delivering electrifying performances this performance by Mr. Cura was a revelation...

I love Cura's authentic singing. Hope he is around for 40 more years !

Un des meilleurs rôles de Jose Cura... pour faire oublier ses pires prestations. Il y a la voix, avec son timbre inimitable et sa grande qualité d'acteur.
This is a great performance from these two artists, absolutely riveting. Jose Cura is something of an enigma to me. At the beginning of his career, I thought he was going to be one of the really great tenors. This potential has never been realised. Yet he remains a tenor of great charisma and a gifted actor and musician. I have seen him several times and despite some unconventional vocal techniques, he remains one of the most interesting tenors of the age.

Waltraud Meier and Jose Cura are marvelous in this scene.
The scenery, conducting and stage direction are great, too. Kudos to all involved.
