Weird to hear Owen Wilson talk about Starsky & Hutch nearly a decade before he was in Starsky & Hutch.

There's such an unscripted feel to all the dialogue, incredibly natural and ofcourse, with that signature offbeat sensibility. Great stuff!

This short was probably filmed for practically nothing, besides the cost of the camera (assuming this was shot digitally). If it wasn't shot digitally, it would cost about as much as the film costs. He knew the Wilson brothers personally, and got permission from locals to film in their businesses. If you're filming in color, things get much more expensive. Lighting, lenses. Then if you're running proper sound you have mics that can get spendy.

A lot of low budget films are in black and white because it costs a lot less since you don't have to have proper lighting, expensive lenses, etc. I imagine thats the case with this short. Christopher Nolan's first film "Following" was also black and white for the same reason.

"There's not a single speck of yellow to be found"

Because it's a black and white film, perhaps? haha

I didn't like Bottle Rocket at all, but all of Wes Anderson's other movies are phenomenal
