@ClockworkMerc The huge majority of GE crops, etc. already use virtually all conventional breeding techniques and on top of that use recombinant DNA techniques, etc. So, the reality is the entire process used to create GE crops, etc. causes more changes to organisms than conventional breeding alone. Therefore, GE generally poses additional risks such as antibiotic resistant markers, virus promoters, the use of e.coli, agrobacterium, etc.
@myndy86 Yes. That is true, but it has its roots in selective breeding, and since the differences between organisms are caused by changes in DNA, it's safe to say induction of DNA changes is not necessarily any more dangerous.
@ClockworkMerc For a taste test not done by magicians who get paid to trick you, type "Organic or Conventional? (2 of 2)" in the youtube search. If you are worried about people's expectations influencing their choices, then you can look at animal studies. Several meta-analyses of hundreds of animal taste test studies, suggest most animals in most cases choose organic, for example "when given a choice, animals prefer organic to conventionally produced fodder." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15195159
@ClockworkMerc Genetic Engineering is not selective or cross breeding. Here is the USDA definition of Genetic Engineering "under guidelines issued by USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, genetic engineering is defined as the genetic modification of organisms by recombinant DNA techniques (7CFR340: 340.1).""Recombinant DNA techniques (DNA formed by combining segments of DNA from different organisms)" ers.usda.gov/briefing/biotechnology/glossary.htm
It's simple...if you think organic is better then by all means pay the extra cost for it. Just don't try to mandate it for everyone else. Lets just let the free market decide which is best.
As stated in previous comments, these could be paid "actors" to support a corporation pushing toxic chemical filled foods. I'm from the islands and produce today DOES NOT taste as good as it used to before pesticides, chemical and hormone grown foods. Especially fruits. Many look good and fresh, but their rotten on the insides due to growth hormones. Organic produce IS more flavorful tnan conventionally grown. There is NO argument.

@NOBLE9009
Eh? No argument for a personal testament, the least reliable of all evidence?
Even though it could be a healthy dose of confirmation bias and the fact that you know it's organic could very well influence your perception of it?
You're right, we're all just so full of shit!

@YouJustFoundTheTruth
You know, cabbage and cauliflower originated as GMOs, of a sort.
Their ancestors were mutated mustard plants.
