The first time I uploaded this vid, something happened with the audio. It was out of sync with the video, so I decided to redo the whole thing.

In this video, I use Thinking Particles and lights to create a nice soft wispy smoke effect.

  • Hi! I love your tutorials. I was wondering if you have a website where you organize all this content. Cheers :)

  • @marytrodriguezp Thanks! As of right now, I do not have a website for this content. However, I am considering uploading these tutorials to a server such as mediafire, megaupload, etc for anyone interested in downloading for the time being.

  • OK I’ve got a question, I’ve been trying deparately for the last week to figure something out ...

I have a 2d animation of a horse silhouette running, I bring it into C4d, put it on a Plane, use the alpha channel to take out the background and so all I have now is the 2d horse running. Looks great ... but the problem is, I want to clone objects to the horse part of the plane, yet C4d wants to attache the clones to the entire plane ... is there a way around that?

  • @primarymusicusa I believe the shader effector has the ability to use the alpha channel. I have not tried it though.

  • I can't believe this node crap. Why did they do such a complicated set of instructions? Is this really the best way? I am not critisizing you, but Cinemas way of doing things. I am not a computer programmer, I am an artist. Thus the tool should have been utilized for an artistic feel rather than a bunch of boxes with points to connect. Ranting here......sorry, but really, why TP?

  • @pkrska C4D isnt the only package that uses nodes. 3DS Max has Thinking Particles as well, and even some compositing packages use nodes. Unfortunately, there isnt any preset way of making this stuff. Xpresso contains the information thats needed to control certain things that the basic tools in the layout cannot provide. It can be aggravating, but if you want to go further than a basic emitter, you have to learn TP. To be honest, C4D needs an overhaul when it comes to TP.
