My new digs... Dancing at my grand-mother's old house, it is now empty save for my pole, a yoga mat and my Yamuna balls.

The new pole was still pretty slick when this was recorded in May 2009, I had no leg holds at all but I pretty much got all of my tricks back now. It is a 50mm, just under 2inches Chrome X pole and I had a 45mm, 1.75inches stainless steal Platinum Stages and the difference is huge.

Pole texture plays a large part in friction. I never had sweaty hands with my stainless steel pole & I would see a lot of girls wiping their hands on their shorts in the middle of combos for grip and I now understand why... Chrome!!! That is my major concern with my new X. I know I may get a few hisses for saying it but I think Platinum Stages' Stainless is a way better pole for control/grip, though a minus is that it takes longer to warm up and you have no grip until it does.

Another difference is the spin, X pole has a more natural spin while PS, I think, may be modeled after centrifuge technology, lol! I was almost thrown from my pole into the walls a few times :0

I have never danced on a Brass nor a powder coated pole so I have no basis for comparison there.

Please, let me know if you agree or not with my comments, discussion is good as we all have different body chemistry and what's good for me isn't necessarily a universal truth!

Props to all the pole dancers who post vids and/or share their knowledge!

I hope you enjoy the vid, thanks for watching. The songs are Cat and mouse by The red jumpsuit apparatus and Lucky man by The Verve... er... not anymore... I had a thrid party dispute and had to change the music....

  • hey gurl, i just got my pole yesterday , its chrome and its wicked sticky im getting really fustrated with it already. im used to using titaniam gold. I see you posted this video more than a year ago.... has it gotten less slick since then or are you still having trouble with it?

  • @princesayoleasa Thanks for the comment and sorry for getting back to you so late! This pole has gotten better with time but I still prefer my stainless, it's actually smaller in diameter but sticks a bit better and doesn't get slick so quickly...

I hope your chrome gets better for you too with time! Happy Poling!!

  • So chrome and stainless steel are slick...but titanium gold and brass are not. So which would be better to practice on the one that's hardest or the one that's easiest? Or I guess what kind do they use for professional competitions?

  • Well, I've learned that it all depends on your personal chemistry, some people love brass while others hate it, if you get the chance try them all out to see what works for you. I have yet to come across a brass pole :(

Lately I've seen a lot of Xpole used in competitions (50mm chrome) they sponsor a lot of them and in Australia, they use Bobbi's Brass 38mm pole which is way skinny!

    Thanks for your comment!

  • hey! ive been using PS poles for a while. i just got my X-Pole not long ago... and I think the X's grip is better. I guess everybody has different opinions... but yessss the PS pole spins like crazy!! i was suprised at how the X spins slower, but I love it... i thought id give in my feedback!

  • Thanks for giving your feedback!!

    Wow I love your dance and info because I was going to purchase an x pole and now I know what makes my hands so sweaty! so thank you for posting ( ;

  • Remember when pool halls used to be disreputable and then they got respectable? I hope strip clubs are like that one day. I love watching women pole dance but hate the way some guys act. Good job with this video!

  • I have to say I'm a girl and you have me mesmerized

  • @stairwaygoddess the X poles dont do any damage just go to the website and click how to install your x poles

  • your grandma would be proud.YES?

  • love the setting! i'd love to have a go!

  • @princesayoleasa which website did you order your poll from?

  • Hi Love Your Video =)

... I want to start this just for fitness... but i have no idea what kind of pole to buy =( What would you recommend 50mm or 45 mm? Would a stationary or spinning pole be better to start with? Also I Rent My Unit So Does It Do Much Damage to the ceiling? Thanks xx

  • Hey! You're amazing! I totally know what you mean about chrome. I have an X Pole and I always keep a hand towel at arms reach when I'm using it. One of my old housemates had a stainless steel one and the grip was a lot better, but it also had a bit more girth than the X Pole so that may have had something to do with it.
