Chef Mark Garcia prepares a simple meat sauce using ground beef, spices and fresh ingredients to help combat menu fatigue for people following Tim Ferriss's Four Hour Body Low Carb Diet.

Spaghetti Sauce With Heartbrand Akaushi Ground Beef.


1 lb Heartbrand Akaushi ground beef (browned)
onion ( about 1/2 cup)
garlic
thyme, oregano, dried basil (1/2 tablespoon - 1 tablespoon)
1 fresh tomato ( about 1 cup)
favorite jar of tomato sauce
red wine (optional)
fresh basil

1. Saute onions and garlic
2. add thyme, oregano, dried basil,fresh tomatoes then saute.
3. add tomato sauce (as much as you want for thickness)
4. add ground beef
5. add basil
6. add red wine to taste (optional)

  • what do you recommend putting this sauce on top of that stays within the 4-hour plan?

  • @daycontise - You could try Spaghetti Squash (after it has been cooked, you simply "scrape" it out of its skin and it look a lot like spaghetti noodles. Or you could make "noodles" out of zucchini and yellow squash.

  • Hi Chef Mark, thanks for making all these 4 hour body recipe series as my partner is trying out the Tim 4 hour body and not too keen on microwave egg and can food diet. So found your site and great fresh alternative and love the variety and gourmet , fresh meal.. gotta enjoy what we eat. Please keep making more video so can have more variety for , lunch, snack and dinner meals.. thanks lots.

  • Chef Mark: I would love to see some recipes that I could easily prepare and take to work for lunch. Finding something that can be consumed cold or heated in a microwave and still conform with the 4-hour diet is extremely difficult.
