Weekly Western Vocaloid Ranking #5

We are once more sorry for being a week late. A lot has been up and this is once again hard volunteer work we do to improve and support the western vocaloid community.

Now to finally adress the issue of the ranking getting stale, thus terminating it's purpose of introducing little known western producers and their songs to the world, we have expanded the ranking algorithm to asign negative points to songs ranked in the top 20 in the previous ranking increasing by rank.

Songs with minus points will have those minus points halved once they are placed outside the top 20 in anotother rannking, until then negative points stack.

this way new fresh songs will come in on a regular basis but only songs with big points can stay in the ranking for several rankings, this way they are not over-hated.

Basically small songs will come and go, but the real popular songs will be either there or back soon.

Sorry if this upsets some people, but in this world if you want equal chances you probably need to cheat^^
Either that or do the old survival for the fittest trick. (not quite the nicest way).

I'm sure the audience will bear it and bear it well, it's not like we are asking for anything in return.

Definitely the best one this far. I approve this new penalty system. What could be improved are the preview clips of songs. I noticed that they have already been chosen better, but now they are just beginnings of the songs and that part usually isn't the best part of song. Other than that, I have no complaints. ^^

@myucon We actually CAN'T streamline the process to less then quite a few hours each week.

If you feel you have the time and dedication, we would welcome you to take the list and add an ideal start and end point for the 40 sec preview to each of the 164 songs in the ranking.

I have 3 things to address, though.

1. Consider adding more color to the video other than gray, black and white, it's not that appealing.

2. I noticed the commas in the totals were misplaced, but then I realized that they aren't put in the same place in every country. Could you consider getting rid of it completely? Like, instead of 674,31 just do 67431, we'll count out the numbers. XD

3. Is there anyway I can help these come out faster?!

@AnimeonTuba 1. We will conscider. Too much color is straining to the eye, especially for a show so long.

2. those are not commas to make reading of the numbers easier. They are like... "10.45678" commas^^ jeez I thought the decimal point thing was more of a programmers thing, I didn't realize people would have problems with comma oO

3. The only current way to support the WWVR production is to enlist as a song hunter and skim Youtube for original western vocaloid music for us.

@AnimeonTuba actually Creepy Toast will be in the top 3 in the next 2-3 rankings tops. Penalties to the first 3 ranks are pretty high. We are confident, that the new dynamic this adds to the WWVR will avoid staleness and redundancy. This really was (almost) going to be the same and same songs over and over^^

We truely hope that the new system will work well and to everybodies liking.
