  • This is so helpful! Can you come teach at our university!

  • If the preferred method of absorption by the body is of potassium is orally, and not intravenously, why was I given it intravenously over orally? I have been to the hospital several times for hypokalemia, and I am consistently given it intravenously. My potassium levels have drifted between 1.2-1.6, severely hypokalemic and life-threatening and yet this is routine practice at the hospitals I am treated at.
