As basic as it is, Matt 16:18 cannot even be translated correctly by those with so much intelligence in the Catholic Church. It was about Peter's professionto Christ. It is a parable. The Catholic Church is nothing more than a paganistic cult of demons. In that case the 4 Gospels could only be nothing but parables & we should only take what we think is "good" & leave what we think is "bad"? NO! This conversation that talks about the gates of hell not over taking it. The rock was that the church was built on were the little stones that surround the huge stone that the water comes from. So Jesus told Peter He would build on that rock or little stone. 1 Sam 15:23
