Ritz Camera Store Closes with No Warning

While wakeboarding, I got a voice mail from my manager about our local Ritz Camera closing in 3 days. Luckily I decided to record the phone call. Nothing beats finding out you are out of a job on your day off while wakeboarding and drinking beers on a boat. Thanks David Ritz!

@MrShooter667 i started working at ritz camera a month ago.im not that into prints but its way better doing it at ritz than at a walmart or something...a lot of people get payed for their prints, and cvs isn't going to do an 8x10 or bigger..which a lot of customers come and do...and equipment wise i gotta admit some stuff his overpriced, but thank God the majority of the consumer market likes to try out their equipment and buy it at that moment :) i just wish middle aged women wer less annoying

Jesus Christ! Why would you ever go to Ritz! You can get your pictures developed while you shop at most stores, and for equipment you can shop online and save 20% minimum over going to Ritz.

They should do the honorable thing and give up like Circuit City

@Mr101tech Hmmm...that's funny. I just looked up the Canon 7D and 5D mark II both at ritz and BH and BH was $100 cheaper on both. I will give you that cameras are pretty competitively priced but where ritz really gets you is the memory cards, lenses, and flashes. They are always much more than BH. I worked there for about 4 years and few few times did I ever order through them over BH.

@julianic81 you obviously don't know anything. Ritz Camera prides itself in it's amazing customer service and MANY will attest to that. Over priced? Wrong, many cameras sold at Ritz are the same price at many websites including bhphoto. D5000 kit: BH regular price is $749. Same at Ritz. Even those items that are "overpriced," they are sold at MSRP, where websites UNDERPRICE them; they don't have a huge payroll, lease, and other overhead. Think about what you say next time before posting rubbish.

ritz camera in NOVI, MI is full of a dickheads i hope they close. i fucking hate ritz camera now, though im sure not all the stores only hire dickheads,

Same thing happened for afew stores. One of my stores had to close and clear out within 2 days.

yeah. they did this to me, too. I showed up to work and my DM comes in and starts putting up signs while saying, "hey, you're closing. today." then I got to call my manager who was on vacation and tell her.
