Palpitations are one of the most common reasons I see patients in the office. Skips, flips, flops, jumps and missed beats can be unnerving but are often not dangerous. Dr. Matt DeVane, board certified cardiologist, author and co-founder of HeartSmart MD reviews the skipping heart and what steps to take. Learn much more at www.heartsmartmd.com

@SanEverett Also I can get weird pains sometimes in my chest like sharp nerve pains. They only last seconds and don't happen every day an might not feel nothing for a few months then HELLO here one comes lol..
Not a fun thing at all...The doctors attribute it to over worked nerves etc panic attack etc....
Again, its really been nice to read some of these stories..I thought I had some weird abnormality going on that soon I would drop dead like a rock ..

@SanEverett Heart palps are a night mare!! I have anxiety attacks as well that I inherited from mom, thanks mom lol! So I have to really watch caffeine and not too much lettuce which gives me heart burn and gets the anxiety going which gets the palps going..
Its a weird sense of terror......I can be sitting with my daughter holding the little grandbaby and HELLO here it comes..I just don't say nothing to nobody and drink some water and try to relax..I am glad to read these stories too like mine!

I'm male 46 and have been having heart palps for about a year now. Some days hardly nothing at all.But some days 1/3 of my day is trying to put off 'another' trip to the ER for a false alarm heart attack.I have had nearly 20 visits to three different hospitals thinking I was about to die...I am not exaggerating! I've had 2 ambulance rides.I've had too much to list done checking this out.Even heart cath cause my chest was hurting.Turned out to be heart burn.Several dye tests looking but nothing .

Im in the very same boat as you,my friend.
Sucks no?
Just had a trip to the ER today.
Was told the same thing "You seem to be fine,Here's some anxiety pills"

I mean...I WANT them to be right.
I just can't get myself to belive them

I get these too and it scares the shit out of me. I have a health anxiety issue so I know it's brought on from that. Im 24 and I've been to the ER about four times thinking I was having a heart attack. I've gotten multiple ekg's, chest x-rays and an echocardiograms done. The doctors tell me I'm fine. Deep down I know this but when you start to experience this everything you've been told goes out the window. I'm having skipped heart beats as I type this now. I just get so scared that my heart is
