There will never be another such as Bill Peitsch. Bill died on September 21 of 2007, and life will never be the same for those of us that had the opportunity to benefit by him. Bill is my best, and longest standing friendship. It was he that introduced me to film-making; when we were 10 years old. He invited me over to make a film for the Ghoul with his family's super 8mm camera, and I have been hooked ever since. I also became hooked on Bill, as he has been a true, 1,000% reliable, & life en-richening friend. His family and friends gathered at Killmeyer's Beer Garden in Staten Island on April 20 of this year. This led me to edit together footage I have collected over the decades, and place it with music from some of the bands Bill has been in; Purple Wizard and The Church Keys, in this case. DVD's were made for his closest. Most of the footage here is from my collection. I only had access to some of the photos and footage I have of Bill, as more of it is in my brothers garage in Michigan, where I left it after my wife and I ran from Katrina. Look for a young Joecartoon with Bill, and myself in a early super 8 heist movie we made for The Ghoul, but never sent in, because he never returned (nor aired!) the last one we made for him. We thank our friend George Leese for the footage of Bill dancing at a Nine Pound Hammer show, at the now demolished Reruns, in Dearborn, MI. Also, many thanks to Terry Murphy for his friendship, and assistance in my getting this up. Check out Terry's Question Mark & The Mysterians site, and his awesome YouTube videos;

  • Quick,close the door before the dog gets in !

  • If Bill was in the house everybody knew it. I miss the big beautiful galoot.

  • OH HOW I LOVED BILL! This is really a remarkable tribute. I knew Bill the way a lot of people knew him: by the code of alcohol. He had such a lust for life. It seems like EVERY time I was with Bill, he got thrown out of the bar -- but never anything ugly, just too much enthusiasm for one room. We bonded the moment we met. Nothin' but trouble and love... and ROCK 'N' ROLL. Thanks for the awesome footage. He was one of a kind, fer sher.

  • I would like to see his group the PURPLE WIZARDS ... doing their tune HEY SAH LO NEY....

    whatta great song.....and their version is pretty cool. Get it going Bill. Good luck to ya!

  • I only met him a couple 2-3 times, but those were among the most memorable times in my life! RIP

  • That was Bill Peitsch? Oh my god, I had no idea. I hung out with him in Vegas and had the best time. I will always remember his insane pirate jabber during the Troggs' Cavestomp set (and at other times). I even printed out an article on the rise of piracy in the Indian Ocean to give to him. Here's to you, Bill!!!! Aaaaargh mateys!!!!! Shit. man. He was true.
