A Land Rover Defender drives up a 4WD track.
The majority of the drive is done with the driver seeing nothing but sky.
One brave soul attempted it in a Landcruiser but failed before even getting both sets of wheels on the ramp. He is currently at home trying to fix his exhaust.

The video was taken at the Maitland 4WD & Camping Show 2009 and the ramp is 5.5M above the ground.

  • @naamlucked It's a standard Landrover Defender. They've been around since 1948 (although in the old days they were called "Series 1, 2 or 3 rather than "Defender"). It's estimated that around 70% of Series X/Defenders are still being driven today. They've been the most capable, reliable and versatile off road vehicle available for over 60 years. .

  • @mdma111 Except when the Japanese invented Landcruisers

  • When R.G. LeTourneau was an American Underslung salesman he built a 40' high set of stairs at the fairgrounds in California and drove over it at speed to show the traction and handling abilities of that automobile, and that was a hundred years ago. (And then he later pioneered large pnuematic tires and electric wheel drive earthmovers).

  • You should really weld some bars on the sides and in between to catch a falling vehicle. You can replace your exhaust but you can't replace your life... unless you found a green mushroom at some point...

  • Remember where we parked.

  • Defender 110 as in it has a 110" wheelbase....Amazing off roader

  • @brackipas huh never saw 1 in Holland/The Nederlands im gonna search for it cause it sounds realy cool and if i see the vid it looks amazing!

  • wow

  • Can you imagine if it slid sideways off the track when the wheels started spinning?
