  • I need to get this down, hate deep half gaurd.

  • @rockos414 do you even know what the x-guard position or an armbar looks like? The bottom guy was attempting to push andre's knee back in order to maintain the deep half guard, not to establish x guard. Also his arm is behind his leg and not in between so theres no chance for an armbar

  • This is an old technique with an ingenious new setup.

I have heard it called the "armless" sweep (check it out v=OdfzUY9TbFE). It is usually used to counter a single or double underhook guard pass, but here we see it used creatively against deep half guard.

Anyone thinking Andre is attacking an armbar at anytime is missing the important detail that the arm he is controlling is OUTSIDE BOTH HIS LEGS!

  • @rockos414 he never tried to establish x-guard, and andre didnt attack the arm because he wasnt in position for the armbar. the reason he rolled was because he wanted to end up on top, then andre saw this and shut it down, taking his back. YOUR WRONG. get on my level.

  • This was all a transition to take the back, I learned it at his seminar.

  • @rockos414 pretty sure you're wrong..no x guard or armbar

  • Quit arguing and get on the mat and train. Come on guys.

  • The intent is to take the back the entire time. There is no armlock attack. This is not a new position.

  • @rockos414 you're wrong.....
