I've always been a fan of Mev Dinc and his Vivid Image , after thier great was onthe likes of The 1st Samurai ect, and thier games always had great engines to them .
Well the Team did wonders with this game , with it look and having far more effects (relections , Transparencies ) than its PS counterpart , running at 60 fps and running in High Res mode. The wasn't brilliant but it was fun (great in 8 multiplayer) and a great showcase of the Saturn .
Mev said it a interview with Mean Machines that game looked and run so well onthe Saturn , becasue the Team dropped C code and went straight to the metal and used Assembly, its just a shame more 3rd parties never went down this route too
I found it weird that the US Saturn never got a official rls of Street Racer only Europe and Japan. Street Racer was an quite overlooked gem in the kart genre for the SNES and 32-bit systems.

Does anyone know if the Saturn version works on the PC emulator for the system?... and if so, how well?

The Mega Drive version was utter tripe! The system couldn't do that 'Mode 7' thingie to get it looking like a kart racer. The SNES version is much better.
