Is this near Morecambe Bay? I heard the sands can be very dangerous. Are there 'mud slides' that you would stay away from?

not very deep then? why dont you use an inflateable boat or pool or lilo to slide out across the mud into deeper stuff or even fill a pool to wrestle in.

It was almost waist deep, that's why I was crawling along on my knees.
