Please take just six minutes of your time, whether you're a "band" person or not, whether you're a music geek or not, and appreciate how spectacular this piece is. Wow. Just wow. (Buy it from Amazon--it's by the Dallas Wind Symphony and is on the CD "Pomp & Pipes".)
Simply Amazing.

Love this song, played it in band last year, and I'm a trumpet player, it was awesome

When the organ arrives, supporting the ensemble with that great rumbling 32' foundation, it raises the level of an already spectacular work to a height unknown before. Brilliant scoring and brilliant performance by all!

Alfred Reed had such a great balance of skill and creativity. There are many who have more of one or the other than he did, but the balance of both is what makes such a distinguished composer in my mind.

This was the very first concert piece I played when I started college. Hearing it brings back some awesome memories.

also my high school band preformed this at ISU, Thornton Fractional South btw. Any-who we reduced the audience to tears and knocked it out of the park with a score in the 90's, those not in band its really hard to achieve. We came within 1 point of beating Marion Catholic, name recognition, but still that hasn't been done in over 10 years.
