Here's an omnimover ride that takes you to the very depths ... of boredom! Did UT stand for United Technologies or Unbelievably Tedious? This experience was the end result of the original (c. 1977) Living Seas concept's "bubble cars" traveling through acrylic underwater tubes being value-engineered into a moving sidewalk trip past aquarium windows ... except with seats. But a lot of people still remember it fondly.

  • Ahh gotta love Disney. The sights, the music and the ANNOYING KIDS THAT WON'T SHUT UP!!!!!!!!

  • I was lucky enough to ride this in 2000 before it closed, and I really miss it. Nemo is cool, but this is so much better.

  • @davidalanlutz Well they were not making money on that. Now if they had characters from there movies on the rides then people would come see it. You always can scuba dive there and miss it. I never have done the nemo ride even though I have been there twice or several times.

  • @Hallamfoebell they added disney movie characters to the ride. if i want to ride the movies ill go to universal or disney studios. just wish they would keep the characters out of epcot and retain that worlds fair theme.

  • @Smilee306 well did you dive the living seas? I love it! Well people want nemo now. Next time I have to stretch my legs so I dont get a cramp.

  • @davidalanlutz whats wrong with the living seas now?

  • i didn't remember how short the ride was. that's for posting this. great vid. RIP the living seas.

  • Its amazing to see what used to be "innovative" this and Seaworlds Arctic Area show of the hot stuff of the past. I miss the "Base Camp" type travel rides.

  • At least this was something, instead of the nothing that we had for 10 years, or the lame rehashing of Nemo that's there now. I know it's not nearly as cool as the original concept, but rarely does the super cool stuff make it off the drawing board. I appreciated getting to see the tank from underneath, and all the cool stuff that you dive to like the bell.

  • Well... it's better than the average aquarium.

I'd rather have a mixture of Nemo and Living Seas. Like, just a characterized pavilion. The current ride is not acceptable, as it is simply a bad retelling of the movie.
