@dbsshadow You don't NEED to but buying one will significantly help perfomance and durability. The Blow off valve in this video runs about 530$ brand new, but you can get them alot cheaper used. And they are other BOVs around for cheaper but HKS makes good shit.

first off, the 335i comes stock with a turbo, you all are morans A blowoff valve is a pressure release system present in turbocharged engines. Its purpose is to prevent compressor surge and reduce wear on the engine.

Some of you morons have no idea. A blow off valve does not regulate boost pressure to stop the turbo generating too much boost and blowing up the engine. That is the wastegate fools. BOV is to cut down on lag and stop the turbo stalling after gearchange, etc.
