This is a plain version of summertime played as described in the enclosed sheet. If u are a beginner and want to learn to play the tune, start easy, together with a metronome. Dont pay to much attention to all the licks and cool stuff that u can find on tube. If u learn to play the tune simple first, the "cool" stuff will come by itselfs while u are playing. Dont get stuck in one tune, play different songs every day, and do not memorize your play. Its very important to use a metronome or other comp while u are playing. there is thousands of fantastic songs out there. Dont get tired playing only one tune. Dont forget to subscribe, a lot of similar videos will be added. Good Luck.

  • does this song have the full version somewhere played exactly like this?

  • @joannaleasa Thx for the comment. I dont know. This is as u know just a fakesheet. If u can find the complete song together with chords, u can play it like this by urself. If i find it, maybe I can repost a full version. No promises though. Regards.

  • Is this in the key of E minor?

Pls bear with me I'm still new to all of this So the very 1st chord you're playing is an A minor chord (A-C-E) with an added 6th (F#) on top. That's A-6 according to the notation (should be the subdominant in Emin) right?

But you also added a D. Could you please be so kind and elaborate where you took the D note from since it's not part of the notation (in my limited understanding)

  • @mdinka Hei, thanks for the comment.

I cant see were in the tune i actually played the D, and youre right, it wouldnt be a natural choice på add in a minor chord. But it is the 4th tone in the scale of amin, and could be added without any problems. In this tune, the D is present in the B-6 chord. so it could be a mixup

  • Could have been helpful to have a slower version for us begginners, and/or the sheet musci if there is any.

  • @permorary This must be a response for another video..)) My video is both slow for beginners and it does have the sheet music in it.

  • @mdinka never mind I found the answers in a music theory book.

    A - means A minor (what a surprise)

    Eb0 is Eb diminished

C/G means play a C major chord with a low G bass note

  • @kuleventil yeah you're absolutely right. I got it confused with the B-6 chord. You know I'm just pressing the stop/play button to follow along. Its kinda tricky.

I'm still not sure about the notation though A- stands for a diminished A chord? C/G is a G chord played over C?

And what's about that little circle thingy right next to the Eb chord symbol at the end of bar 6?

Well that's it and thank you for your patience.

    cheers

  • very helpful, thanks
