Damien Hirst is only artist on paper. He is only investor who pays other artists to create something that he will sign. Pathetic

i don't get it... aren't animals more beautiful when alive? their organs and their vascular systems are works of art already.. why not let them function? if they were dead when he stuffed them, death and decomposition is nature's way of expressing the finishing line... "let it be"

Got to hand it to him. When asked "Are you an artist or a business man," He said "What do you think, business man." As close to an honest confession as you can get and fairly gutsy I think. If you own one of his works I suggest you sell now. You can make money with money or time but you can't make anything with a rotting corpse, even if it does have the sintilating title, 'the impossibility of death in the mind of someone living'.

Sometimes I feel like quitting my art ! When I see the bullshit that goes on! Yes I'll give it Hirst has an engineering ,taxidermist company behind him. 10 million quid , will the art work last? What type of dumb investment is that. A interesting question ..Just proves that today big money is invested in short term art work. Hirst art ? Hockney is right it's what you can get away with! It's a business.
