Believe it or not, this action was supposed to be a quite action. It wasn't to disturb a library. What really was going was that the student organizers were trying and experimenting with breaking the apathy on campus considering the Iraq War.

Although some think the library was the wrong place for this type of action, it was the right action. The wrong action was that it got out of hand and there was chanting. You have to understand, that in the South, there was little dialogue on the issue of war, and many students like zombies were doing little to take action on the war. They were studying history, but they weren't making it- nor being the change they wished to see in the world. That changed.

The library, and especially packed during finals, provided the right medium to have students share in groups what they thought of the issue- although in this situation shifted to what the organizers of this action was doing. This is the nature of the beast when you take risks, and try things you haven't done before. Although the action could have been done right, the chanting changed the tenor of the action.

What CAN be said about this action, was that it, and the chief architects behind it were successful in arousing a new consciousness and culture on campus through several actions. YouTube Denton/Activists/Peace March/Freeze Jazzfest.

The University of North Texas thanks to a several handful of people became a breading ground for ideas, and surely won't be the same since. Whether or not history will remember the organizers and their actions is another story. But what is know was that there was a lot of love and passion in their work. For that I am grateful.
