  • @J0nnyCArr

    Your comment was abusive nonsense.

  • As someone who lives in the UK, I can tell you there is absolutely no link between the bus campaign (which drew a days headlines) and the riots and certainly no link between the riots and religious levels.

After all if you look to the American prisons were atheists make up around 0.1% of the prison population and then say riots are caused by a lack of belief in a higher power is a flawed idea

  • @max4pne You are referring to a different issue. The issue here is whether there has been a breakdown in basic morality caused indirectly by the attacks on religion by atheism.

The events that preceded the riots all undermined the sound structure of the church and what it stands for. Some of the signs held by the rioters called for the abolition of democracy and the rule of law. When people feel that they have been treated unjustly, religion is often an area that is turned to for guidance.

  • @hdregmore while their actions are still inexcusable*

  • @max4pne I tend to agree.

  • "Stop worrying about the police and burn me!"

I can assure you we do not draw our morality from religion let's say the bible which condones (and no this isn't disrespectful, rather pointing out the facts of a book) slavery, homophobia, genocide, sexism just to name a few. We'd be truly in a sorry state if we truly derived our morality from religion.

The reason why they rioted was due to years and years of being treated like second class citizens, while it was inexcusable their actions, you didn't see anyone from Chelsea rioting

  • @grungefreak10 Glad to see we misunderstand each other.

  • @hdregmore Ooooooooooo-kay.
