Easy to tell that Hitchcock himself directed this episode. And quite a role for Joseph Cotten, who had worked with Hitchcock before in "Shadow of a Doubt." Cotten's experience with the Mercury Theater really shines here as only his voice comprises most of his role. You'll never see anything as good as this on television (or in the movies) today.
