1970's era video of Sensei Teruo Chinen performing Seyunchin, Shisochin, Seipai, Seisan & Kururunfa slowly and at various angles. He also breaks down the more difficult moves slowly. Then demos and hard hitting action from 1975 Long Beach CA WUKO tournament featuring numerous hard hitting old-school kumite. (no pads or mouth pieces here, folks!!)

Demonstrations by Morio Higaonna Sensei, Fumio Demura Sensei, and rare footage of Hironori Ohstuka, founder of Wado Ryu. Plus much more, it was originally shot on 8 m.m. film and transferred to VHS and now mpg.

08/11 I received this info from Bakkies Laubscher Sensei of the IOGKF "The event was 1975 WUKO World Champs in Long Beach Ca. and features the South African team, of which I was a member . The footage of the fighting was taken by a teammate and the demos by myself on Super 8 movie! This was before the IOGKF was founded in 1979, so it was Higaonna Sensei with his 'Kohei, Chinen Teruo Sensei performing."

Special thanks to Hoosain Narker, Sensei of So. Africa for his gift of this footage many years ago.THE USE OF ANY COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL IS USED UNDER THE GUIDELINES OF "FAIR USE" IN TITLE 17 & 107 OF THE UNITED STATES CODE.SUCH MATERIAL REMAINS THE COPYRIGHT OF THE ORIGINAL HOLDER AND IS USED HERE FOR THE PURPOSES OF EDUCATION,COMPARISON,AND CRITICISM ONLY.

  • the man, in that video, sensei Fumio Demura, is my sensei for karate. amazing. he was a stunt double for over 30 movies, won over 400 medals and awards, and 67 trophies, and, you guys won't believe this, he actually introduced Japanese weapons into America. and he is the best Karate Grand Master Champion in the world. holy crap
