All a big fat waste of money. Who are we going to fight these neato jets?
We're slaughtering our enemies with technology from the 80's.. if we get into a war where we actually need things like an F-22 or the Typhoon we're not going to have enough of them to matter.
This is just about keeping the companies that makes this hardware in business.

Im bored of these Typhoon vs F-22 rants now. Lets just say the Spitfire would destroy both of them :) ............until an American pipes up about a P-51 anyway.

This is the best close quarter combat aircraft available. Then add its enormous payload for ground attack etc and you have the perfect platform for development into 2040 and on

I don't know how the Eurofighter and F-22 compare. I'm sure they have strengths and disadvantages to the other. I've seen the F-22 fly at Nellis AFB and I've neither seen nor heard anything like them in my life.

@hippotoast There are 168 F-22 in operation today, certainly not scrapped, and certainly the best fighters in existence.
