I hope I have a son who displays singing talent (its in our family, so, here's hoping!)
Then I can hear beautiful boy-sop vocals when ever...he feels like it.
ROFL, oh well, I wanna be one of those mama's whos sits in the audience with the HUGE grin and tears running down her face.
But, if he wants to race BMX or play Wii, thats ok by me.

i was in the land of lakes choir boys and they would come on their america tour and they would stay at our houses. we were the only people they trusted enought to let stay in our homes

That scene where the boys are being woken in the morning brings back so many memories from when I was at boarding school.

Why do you say "that's nonsense" manumerker? There are photos that prove that InQuires knows his/her history and you do not! The Hofburg uniform was an army suit, complete with ceremonial sword. The change to sailor suits took place under Rector Schnitt and went through a few modifications until a few tours after world war 2.

It seems that the sound recordings are from the 1960s, while the filming is much newer and lip-synched. Can anyone confirm this?

Unlikely in my mind. If it looks out of sync, it is probably a fault of the video file.

Austria does have a naval tradition. If you will recall from The Sound of Music, the male lead was a retired naval captain. Look up "Austrio-Hungarian Empire".

Furthermore, at the time, sailor suites were in style for boys all over the world. The choir's predecessor wore an Army style uniform, but after defeat in WWI the army was out of favor in Austria.
