When I have gotten a flat I get them plugged and they have worked fine. Cost 5.00 a tire to plug.
They are noisy....by the way I love my BMW 328i Coupe 2007.

really works!! Today my 2009 330i coupe experienced this first hand! Was on the highway going 120km and something fell of a truck one my tires hit the stuff that feel off, you can see a crack but it was still able to drive me to a secure location to have them changed!! run flats are awesome!

I have RFTs on my E60 525d, first time ive experienced them, regular driving is fine, no different than conventional tyres, however, I have noticed some "snaking" on the motorway on cruise control past 75mph?! Amy ideas?

The benefits are clear but there are also some tradeoffs with RFTs. For one there is absolutely no deflection in the sidewall since it is reinforced so every little bump and crack in the road you will feel and hear and in some cases it will violently rattle the car. I went over a small pothole I didn't notice once and it actually made my radio skip. It's also possible to momentarily lose contact with the road i.e. taking an onramp at 30+ mph and hitting a bump causing the car to 'skip'.
