The seldom heard B-side to JP's smash hit "That's All I Want From You" both backed by Hugo Winterhalter and his orchestra. Released for RCA October 1954 the former making it's way to #3 on the charts. I have posted both sides.. enjoy!

  • Pretty neat! Thanks for posting. Always interesting to explore sources of rock'n'roll and modern pop. Too often we get sucked into believing everything pre-rock was controlled by Mitch Miller and other dull as dishwater producers. This track and many of your other posts show otherwise. Cheers

  • The tune sounds vaguely familiar; I'm trying to place it. I don't think it's original, but sounds like it's adapted either from a classical, semi-classical, or national (ethnic) song.

  • Thanks for posting this very historic track....according to a recent interview with Jerry Allison(Buddy Hollys' drummer),back in 1956,these two teenage musicians were so impressed with the drumming on"Dawn",that they used that unique style when they recorded the multi-million seller"Peggy Sue"
