I've had a thing for Persia White ever since I saw her in the movie Blood Dolls about 10 years ago. I love how raw her voice gets on certain sounds XEO3 did like Marry me, and Numb. I like her solo stuff too.

@EpitaphN1 Mostly correct. Lynchings to a large degree happened in the south well after slavery. Indeed, it was bad business to kill your slaves. Lynching was sour grapes terror tactics performed by the KKK and others from fear that blacks would get "courage and revenge" for the past. Anyway, the USA is different than then.

its about racial oppression
it was original sung by Billie Holiday
when she sings:
"...Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black body swinging in the Southern breeze..."
She is singing about the fact that black slaves where lynched and hung on trees ,whenever they searched for freedom. Superficial people never search for the deeper meanings of the lyrics they listen to, and instead are quick to negatively label Persia, just because she sings rock
