Jalen Wilson, the 8 year old Harlem-based piano prodigy, is profiled on CBS Evening News as part of a feature story on the slow death of jazz ... all » in America.
Since perhaps his very first time ever touching a keyboard in his Harlem apartment, the young musician has enjoyed the constant support of his single mother and his neighbor, entrepreneur, Leland Hardy, who's constant requests for "tickets once you make it to Carnegie Hall" have fomented his relentless pursuit of stardom.
While jazz seeks to rebound from a dearth of broad based interest of late, it is youngsters like rose who will resuscitate America's only indigenous art form.
Hardy is the Founder and Original Registrant of www.NEWYORK.com, the "World's Greatest Website!" that provides a broad basket of global e-commerce services, including discount hotel reservations worldwide, tickets to all sports events, all theater tickets, @newyork.com email and more.

Both my children know jazz. They know who Miles, Charlie, Ella, Dinah, Sarah, Frank, Cannonball, etc. All the jazz I know, they know. They heard the music throughout there childhood. Along with the essesnce of R&B also. They also have been exposed to opera and classical music. My son was 16 and bought a cd by Vladimir Horowitz (classical artist). I believe in children being exposed to all kinds of music, just as I was.
