  • The significance of the train horn cannot be ignored. That's GNP saying goodbye on his way up. No question about it. RIP GNP.

  • @Idn42 not a bad thing. as a third year member of this band, an an IMPACT staff member at DMA and a friend of GNP's, I know that it is ok to say that its not in fact a bad thing that we will change. After seeing all 380 of my best friends crying in one another's arms through this weekend, I know that we will change, and for the better. We have only become stronger, and I think this will shine through in everything we do, and everything our audiences experience through us.

    I love you UMMB

Watching this, there is no doubt in my mind that UMMB's eyes will be filled with pride forever<3

  • tonight was awesome when they played at our school

  • I had the honor of working with G Parks in high school at the traditional UMass Band Day. He was an absolutely amazing director and will be greatly missed, but always remembered.

    Rest In Peace +-

  • In the exact words of my instructors:

"they'll sound the same, they'll look the same, but they will never... Be the same." ;(

  • Well done UMMB. Kudos to all of you. UMMB is the living legacy of a great man. I had the pleasure of being part of UMMB in '93 and '94 as part of the A / V crew, and I knew from Day 1 of band camp in the summer of '93 that I joined something extraordinary, led by the truly great Mr. Parks. He is sorely missed, yet will never be forgotten. I carry great memories from my time in the UMMB. Thank you, Mr. Parks. God bless.

  • I have had the distinct pleasure of watching George Parks as a consummate Drum Major for his beloved Reading Buccaneers Drum Corps through the 70s and 80s and watched him blossom to a fine educator and Band director! This video says it all and may God Bless you all in this trying time......"Only the Good Die Young" in the words of Billy Joel.........RIP, George! May God Keep you looking down with PRIDE for your students!
