Here is the bassline to the Ohio Players' 1974 hit Skin Tight. I didn't find any other videos of this bass part on youtube so i decided to make one.

  • thanks man

  • @wjbell See my comment, just added. Such "hard work" is unnecessary, when the A is an open string. Try it by just pulling off the D [and later in the pattern pulling off the C] (while your hand moves downward for the A-G-A part of the lick). Much easier that way, isn't it?

  • I don't understand why the teacher doesn't make use of open strings. The second half of the main lick (on the second string) is much easier with a C then a /D-A pull off, rather than hurrying the finger over to the E string to find the A.

However, the rest of it's just great. A nice reminder of "smoove" ol' skool funk!

  • TABS PLEASE i cant keep up witgh my eyes

Thanks man. My main problem is on the main part of the riff where you you use your third finger to hit the A string 5th fret and then the E string 5th fret immediately after. (at 0:06, 0:11, etc) I guess I'm not that quick yet. I come back with my index finger on the E string 5th fret. I need to practice. You make it look easy.
