  • I've been to see many veteran jazz, soul, rock artists, whose best work was done decades in the past and who aren't necessarily at the top of their game anymore. I always get a sense of needing to see them while they're still with us, to pay tribute to what they did when they were younger.

Pharoah is different - this guy can still play, he's still relevant, he's still got an amazing, distinctive sound and he's still great.

He deserves to be far better known. If you get the chance, go and see him

  • Stupid ass, that's not BLONDE, but white hair FOOL! White hair comes comes in naturally if you live long enough!Simple mf!

  • Pharoah Sanders music teaches me sometimes...

Talks to me even, I believe he even taught classes on the art of music effecting the psyche/music coming from the soul.

He's like the Rafiki to my Simba XD

  • its ok!

    Liam (7 years old).

  • its ok!

  • @postex1 I'm going to see him tomorrow night! Can't believe it. I'm too excited and really... really can't believe he'll be there. This will forever be the night I saw Pharoah live. I'm thankful he's still around.

  • what does this belong too, i want it in full.... so melancholic yet optimistic

  • @VTERRELL lol

  • OMG! is there something wrong with me that i cried the first time i heard this? im not usually a crier, but my God this is beautiful

  • Simply one of the best. Go see him live, you'll never regret it. I've seen him a number of times over the past decades and will do so again when I get the chance. A much overlooked and unappreciated genius. Coltrane praised his fountain of a soul.

  • Thing of beauty. E to the morf has the eye to the ear.

  • @postex1 Hell yeah, I saw Pharoah back in the 70's, he was great, but he's way better now.
