By saying that all Hindus are fanatics is like saying all christians are fanatics. Most of them aren't, actually. But the caste system is so engrained in the culture that it perpetuates, despite efforts by the government to eradicate its negative implications. Hindus are highly fatalistic, and believe they are 'born to their station' ... much like the English did, really not so long ago. Doesn't mean it's 'right' (by whose standards?), but I can think of far worse situations in the world.
