From the Roomba FAQ on the box: "Roomba is pet friendly and won't bother most dogs, cats or other domesticated animals."

  • As far as that dog is concerned, Roomba has passed the Turing test.

  • Heh. But on the other hand, it passed the Turing test for dogs. I think there's a lot of things that could fool dogs.

Heck, this dog was routinely fooled by a Furby. My old dog was once intimidated into backing down from a confrontation with a deer statue. It wasn't even a very realistic statue.

  • Heh. Well, really the dog is named "Lady" (after my original suggestion of "dog" was voted down), but in my house pets tend to accumulate nicknames: nutdog, yarpy, dingo....

Honesty compels me to say that as time has gone on, the dog has established a certain level of detente with the vacuum cleaner.
