This is the one place that I filter on the left on my commute. The risk is minimal due to the bushes on the left, and the stationary traffic. It's not zero though....

There is no law for privacy in the UK, no law against filming/photographing children, cars or people in general. The only laws in respect of cameras are based around military and government sites.

With license plates any plank will realise its not the plate/car that breaks the law but the driver - so hence what is wrong with filming the plate? I see nothing wrong in that myself.

Sometimes the video doesn't pick up a licence plate, so I shout it to be sure I have it recorded

Magnatom - is this reffering (can't spell I know) to reading out the licience plates on some of your videos? I am interested because I think it's a great idea...but what's the argument? please enlighten me....

Different situation, but I did the same to a chap getting out of the passenger door. He was in shorts and my bike was brought to a rapid holt from the braking action against the back of his leg. He was hopping around the dual carriage way with a bloody great burn to the back of his leg...ouch

it's if you do the videos for commercial use you have to have consent. Like phonejacker and trigger happy tv use it to make money from television that is a commercial use.

In most countries, in reality the rich get a different set of laws from the rest of us. In some countries, they can buy the judge or politicians. Elsewhere, they buy the best lawyers available and can pursue vexatious lawsuits that threaten the the victims with financial ruin.

If you have done nothing wrong, except upset a very rich person and he/she starts a lawsuit against you that is likely to cost you $20,000+ per day, just how long would you contest it? Methinks not for long!
