hmmmmm? seriously? it should be the opposite, the guy with spear should hold the sheild cuz spear cant deffend a real sword...sword wud cut it into pieces, but sword can deffend...

i do like this video and the broadsword one however, there is more utility out of these. and i have to admit that one of my biggest petpeeves is sparring someone who has a polearm. but i dont understand why your sheild is so small? is there a point system or is sca rules, or how does scoring work.. because i saw leg shots go unacounted for.

The shield is a buckler... and I use it with a 15" short sword to make it more challenging... especially against a spear :-)
We don't usually score points... but if there's a clear strike, we should stop and separate before re-starting.
This means there's no winner or looser... but just a fight to improve skills. at the end of the bout, you should know how well you did (or not).
