It's easy being against abortion when you're not the one being pregnant. 77% of people in Congress are men. 100% will never get pregnant. We need more women making pro-women decisions.

Wow! This must be striking a nerve for the pro-abortion people to get so hateful. Rape/incest is a blilp on the screen of the abortion picture in this country. We are a selfish nation that puts our gratification ahead of human life. Science will prove R Vs. W caused this genocide we call choice. Which side of history do you want to be on? This is our holocaust and propoganda is creating it, just like in Nazi Germany. If you don't think abortion is wrong, you have buried your head in the sand.

@BethisRad Girl, I feel the same way 'cause I knew since I was a little girl that I never wanted to have kids. Plus, I'm not that fond of kids anyway. And also, sex IS for pleasure! Why do you think men go around looking for sex all the time? Women really do have sex for pleasure as well. I speak from my sex ed knowledge, not personal experience.

@mrhankie2025 I read a case that showed what happened when the law valued the fetus over the mother. The mother, who was in remission after battling cancer, got pregnant because the doctor allowed it. Unfortunately, the cancer came back and the only way to survive was to get an abortion. But the court forced her to deliver prematurely via c-section which resulted in the baby dying within 2 hours and the woman dying a few weeks after due to cancer. What do you have to say to that?

@ToolofSociety If God is pro life, then why did He "create" plants that naturally cause miscarriages?

@kjrk08 Hey now, watch it with the Korea comment. North Korea definitely is a repressive totalitarianism dictatorship but South Korea's doing ok, although it could be better.
-
@Skulander1 That's very true. But then the human race would have died out a long time ago due to a 0% birth rate. Seriously, men FAINT when they witness a childbirth, do you honestly think they'd be able to actually go through it?
-
@LordThranduil234 A fetus is NOT an individual human being. It sustains itself through the mother and can't survive independently. Just let the woman choose what she wants. If that's abortion, so be it. None of us have the right to tell her what to do.

@teton99 Sex-selective abortion in China and India has nothing to do with feminism. It is the direct result of a patriarchal culture that favours men over women. In fact, you NEED feminism in order to change the cultural mentality about girl babies.

What happens when you make abortion illegal? Poland did it!
The result? Thousands and thousands of happy, healthy, women and babies!
In 1993, after 40 years of state-sponsored abortion under Communism, the Polish parliament voted to outlaw abortion. We can do it, too!

We can argue day and night over this but at the end of the day it remains a private decision that neither you or me can take for someone else. It's as clear as that. Simply screaming "murder!!!" doesn't make it so. If it were murder, believe me, I wouldn't need convincing. And neither would the million of pro-choice women in this country who believe abortions need to remain safe, legal, accessible.

Again, I'll say this again and again and again. If men were having kids they wouldn't have any problems committing "murder" and "taking away a life" or whatever B.S. they want to say. Sure, a fertilized egg, MAYBE, will become after 9 months a baby. Sure. But it is not a human yet. And it is living in someone else's body. Surely that entitles that someone to make decisions about it.
Sure. Abortion was a crime after "quickening" (i.e.: when the woman could feel movement in her womb, usually after many weeks of gestation). Which would have made about 99% of abortions totally legal. And no, abortion was not criminalized because of "science" (after all science tells us that a fetus is not a child... we're not the anti-science around here and have nothign to fear from science) but because of anti-women currents of the 19th century.

@Skulander1 You still misunderstand the point of "quickening". That was the point in law when they could prove the baby was alive, not the point where it became a baby.
Fetus - Latin fētus bringing forth of young, hence that which is born, offspring, young still in the womb,

You obviously don't know legal history. Abortion was always a crime after quickening, which is when they baby started moving. It was not because this is when they thought the baby was a human being but when they knew it was actually alive. Abortion statutes were put on the books in the mid nineteenth century when through science they learned that we become living human beings from the moment of conception.

Women have been having abortions since the beginning of times. Making abortions illegal won't stop them, on the contrary. And anti-contraception, anti-sex stances like we see in the U.S. are only making sure MORE abortions will be needed. Abortions need to be kept safe, accessible and legal to save women's lives. And to make sure they are not made slaves to their bodies and enjoy the same equality with men.

@Skulander1 Tell that to the all the women that have been killed by your so called safe abortions. Murder has been around for a long time as well and people will always murder people even with laws saying it not okay. But as a society we are not going to say that murder is okay are we, except of course in the case of the unborn child.
